Kayla Cares 4 Kids

Codelation was able to take the mission of my nonprofit and visualize it into a website. They were able to take everything that made us stand out as an organization, from the colors of our logo, our overall energy and passion, and our work we do, into something people could clearly understand and most importantly want to help support. Being able to have a say in all of the different aspects of the site from the very beginning to the end of the creation process allowed us to have a website that was beyond what we could have hoped for. The team at Codelation always catered to our needs and built something truly wonderful. We are so grateful for all that Codelation has done!

A New Website Helps Kayla Continue Spreading Happiness

Kayla Abramowitz and her team have had an impact across all 50 states. With a reach like that, we knew the Kayla Cares 4 Kids site had to capture the sunshine that their team, volunteers, and donators bring to hospitals to put on the web.

Kayla Cares 4 Kids was looking for an update for their site that would help them attract more people to their amazing cause.

The story started back in 2013 when Kayla started with the goal of donating 100 DVDs to a children’s hospital in Miami. Now, the Kayla Cares 4 Kids has collected and donated items to every children’s hospital and Ronald McDonald House in the country! We knew when they asked for help, we could construct a fun and vibrant site to help them continue their mission of “Helping Sick Kids Feel Better One Smile At A Time”!

Problems

The prior Kayla Cares 4 Kids site had these issues:

  • Not being clearly organized to share their message
  • Not being up-to-date in aesthetics

The team behind Kayla Cares 4 Kids uses their site as a hub for visitors to learn about their cause, find out how to donate, and look at news media and photos. It is so important for their online presence to shine since they can’t be in-person to connect with people in all 50 states.

Solutions

The team was really excited to have an updated look that would spread their cause and help more children smile. We resolved their old site’s issues by:

  • Building an easy-to-navigate website that also clearly communicates all the good done by their nonprofit
  • Crafting a custom style for the site incorporating their feedback and their fun brand colors

Outcomes

We provided Kayla Cares 4 Kids team with a new home to promote their amazing mission. This brightly colored site will be able to drive donations and gather the support of visitors for many years to come as they continue to grow.

Kayla and her team were pleased with the end result of the project. “Codelation was able to take the mission of my nonprofit and visualize it into a website. They were able to take everything that made us stand out as an organization, from the colors of our logo, our overall energy and passion, and our work we do, into something people could clearly understand and most importantly want to help support,” she shared. “Being able to have a say in all of the different aspects of the site from the very beginning to the end of the creation process allowed us to have a website that was beyond what we could have hoped for. The team at Codelation always catered to our needs and built something truly wonderful. We are so grateful for all that Codelation has done!”

Nick was the project manager for this project. He loved the opportunity to work with Kayla Cares 4 Kids. “I am blessed to have worked on a project for someone that does so much good for improving the attitudes and strength of kids that have to go through those treatments,” he says.

Sharing the mission

Highlighting Kayla’s story and the nonprofit’s mission were very important. As a nonprofit, they rely on the kindness of others to continue spreading joy. Visitors can now easily find out how and where they can donate items for children around the country with the integrated “Questions?” section. Media coverage, page of recipients, and photo galleries help visitors learn more about the cause and who they help.

Playful Style

We were very excited to work on a fun and lively design with their team. Cheerful colors from their logo were tied into text, buttons, and icons throughout the site. Dynamic components like the scrolling section on the home page grab visitors’ attention and lead them to more information. Their new site even captures the smiles their hard work brings to others in photo galleries.

Global Recognition

Kayla and her team have received numerous honors and awards for their hard work. They have won an Outstanding Volunteer .ORG Impact Award in 2020, an Ambassador Award from the United Nations Association USA in 2020, and the Gold Level of President’s Volunteer Service Award eight years and counting to name just a handful. That’s not even mentioning the countless news articles and stories highlighting the good deeds done by the team and their amazing volunteers.

A recent adventure for Kayla Cares 4 Kids was being a guest on the Kelly Clarkson Show in May 2021! American talk show host and singer-songwriter Kelly Clarkson invited Kayla for an interview on her “#What I’m Liking” segment that shares uplifting stories from the world of social media. They chatted about the team’s pivot into live streaming during the pandemic to keep entertaining kids and their families in hospitals around the country. Watch this segment below.
